ORCHID Annual Report 2023 - Flipbook - Page 7
Polly is an amazing leader and an inspiration, and her dedication to her work
is a motivating factor for me to try harder to help her deliver the IMPACT
study. I am honoured to be accepting the UK Rare Diseases PPIE award on
her behalf in March 2025 in Manchester and we are due to start our
collaboration with SickKids in Toronto to help us understand whether our
findings from our UK cohorts are also representative in Canada and this work
could foster future collaborations. This add on work to the IMPACT study is
funded through our successful grant application to the 8University College
London – University of Toronto Strategic Challenges Fund Grant9, of which
only 5 were successful from the 26 that applied. We have also published our
protocol paper and have another two papers under review, of which I am lead
author on our Systematic review. I am intrigued to see what the future still
holds and what the next steps for the IMPACT study will look like.
