For SMT members of ORCHID to publish at least 4 academic papers in peer reviewed journals per year,
assessed and monitored through the PDR process
For every completed research study, produce a formal report and at least one output for a lay audience within a
year of completion
Through the duration of a study submit at least one abstract to a relevant conference
Annually submit at least one new grant where a SMT member is either a principal investigator or co-applicant
Maintain an in-house peer review of grants led by GOSH-ORCHID SMT
Target relevant clinical specialities to recruit co-applicants to research grants
Every completed study should have an infographic to be used as dissemination through the hospital to relevant
directorates
For every completed research project produce an easy read summary of the abstract and key findings
Work with co-production team to advertise PPIE opportunities widely across the Trust using GOSH Voice,
thereby aiding equity of opportunity
Signpost researchers to R&I to include appropriate costs for inclusive activities in grants
Maintain log of clinical academic progress of GOSH-ORCHID students
GOSH-ORCHID SMT to hold 6 monthly meetings in each year to monitor student progress and identify early
challenges
GOSH-ORCHID SMT to hold annual showcase event from members in the Clinical Academic Faculty
Deliver 10 AIM sessions each year-to reach range of professionals/different roles, different specialities
attendance monitored
Develop a monthly research forum to foster critical academic debate about all aspects of research, particularly
related to theory and methodology
Use the SORT tool on a biennial basis, monitor progress against our agreed improvement plan working with the
Nursing Strategy-Inquisitive Pillar steering group
Use tools to monitor research capacity, capability and culture on a biennial basis
Work with the Nursing Strategy-Inquisitive Pillar steering group to collaborate with others in the building of a
research dashboard
Ensure regular GOSH-ORCHID representation on the R&I strategy group
Maintain a log of requests to review grants, number and type
Undertake and record journal review activity (including declined invitations)
Two members to attend every CRAC meeting
Through research collaborations, membership on professional committees contribute to research policy and
practice and the work of professional organisations
